Anyone use a copper banded butterfly to clear out aptesia. How well did it work?
I have a huge aptesia problem, I'm thinking of pulling out rocks if I have to.

hello, I had a major problem with aiptesia. one of my saltwater books(MARINE ATLAS BYDEBELIUS,BAENSCH PG194) said to use either copperbanded butterflyfish, klein's butterflyfish, raccoon butterflyfish.I get an klein's butteryflyfish and the book was right it only took less than a week to clear my 150l(40 gal) tank. ALSO,I don't have any corals yet. I'm going to keep him for a couple more months to make sure my problem does not come back. Then I'll trade them for something safer becauase i'm going back to a reef tank again. good luck

I have a 150 gallon tank at my copper banded butterfly got rid of them in about two weeks. You can also use AIPTASIA-X to kill them without buying a fish. You squirt it into there mouth and it desolves them. It's reef safe it's about $12.00.

Its been a month since I bought the copper banded butteryfly fish but it wont touch the aptesia. Its eating all the aquarium copepods decimating their population in the 120 gallon aquarium. I tried feeding it Mysis and brine shrimp but so far it only tastes and spits them, any suggestions ?

The fish started eating a clam I bough in the super market and is much happier.
Now, how do I get it to eat Aptesia?
